Cambridge International AS and A Level Psychology develosp students' appreciation of Psychology and explors the ways in which psychology is conducted. Students also review important research; offering importantn insights into the ways psychology has been applied. The course offers students a better understanding of key research methods, approaches, issues and debates.
The CIE A Level Psychology syllabus enables students to progress on to study Psychology at university.
Teacher assessments are continuous during LIVE TAUGHT lessons, marking of coursework and assignments and summative tests.
Homework will be given at the end of each week, usually in the form of problems to solve, researching key concepts.

Hi my name is Alisdair Taylor (Ph.D) and I am head of psychology at CHS. I have extensive experience in teaching and researching psychology. My teaching style relies
on honesty, patience and transparency. My students tend to do very well indeed in their examinations when they study and work hard. I play tennis regularly and am a sports enthusiast in general.
This specification allows students to facilitate their understanding of psychology providing a firm basis from which to springboard into university and beyond.

It is the student's responsibility to arrange their examinations - our teachers will provide all the support requied. Most students will sit their examination papers at a local school or college. Some students sit their examinations at private examination centres (Google these or ask and we can provide a list) or the British Council for international students.
Assessment, apart from the final AS/A Level exams, will be carried out continuously throughout lessons, via homework or short tests.
